Senior Aerospace Systems Test Engineer (m/f/d)

The Sr. Systems Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of complex systems and software solutions for aerospace applications. This position combines leadership in test engineering and management, with hands-on expertise in planning, implementation, execution, and automation. This role requires a strong technical foundation, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and reliable systems to our aerospace customers.

Your Tasks

  • Provide strategic technical leadership across multiple projects, setting direction and ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations through regular technical reviews
  • Mentor and support test engineers at all levels, fostering skill development and promoting best practices in testing and automation
  • Design and implement advanced test automation frameworks and tools, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient, scalable, and reliable test execution
  • Ensure comprehensive automation coverage for critical functionalities and performance benchmarks, continuously monitoring and optimizing pipeline performance
  • Develop and maintain test plans and test cases based on verification strategies and specifications, ensuring traceability and coverage
  • Execute a broad range of tests, including development, functional, and environmental scenarios, to validate system behavior under diverse conditions
  • Analyze and report test results, including post-processing of test data, visualization, and documentation to support decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality frameworks while evaluating new tools and methodologies

Your Profile

  • University degree in technical engineering (TU/FH, e.g. electronics, embedded systems, computer science, aerospace engineering)
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded systems or software testing, development and implementation of complex test setups, ideally for aerospace or safety-critical applications
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and guidelines (e.g. ECSS, NASA, ARP4754, DO-178C/DO-254) is a plus
  • Structured, goal-oriented way of working
  • Committed & reliable team player with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent English skills

We provide an attractive and performance-based salary, which is based on your qualifications and professional experience. This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade ("Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe") and we offer a minimum salary of € 69,000 gross per year. Actual compensation can be well above this standard.
